Samsung is reportedly considering significant changes to the camera configuration of the Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphone compared to its predecessor. According to recent information, the new model may feature a camera with a five-fold optical zoom instead of the previous three-fold zoom. In simpler terms, Samsung will replace the base "telephoto" lens with a more powerful one. The main periscope lens, however, will retain its 10-fold optical zoom. This change is likely motivated by the fact that zoom levels below five-fold can be achieved through cropping using the main camera's high resolution of 200 MP.
It's worth noting that there have been previous rumors about a similar change in the new flagship, but at that time, it was suggested that the lower zoom "telephoto" lens would be completely removed. |
