Samsung Display showed a twisting OLED display
Samsung Display, a leading display technology company, showcased its latest innovation, the Rollable Flex OLED display, at the ongoing SID Display Week exhibition in Los Angeles. While not the first of its kind, such displays have yet to gain widespread adoption in real-world products. The Rollable Flex screen can be rolled up like a scroll and, when folded, resembles a small tube.

When fully extended, the display's surface area increases approximately fivefold, with the length ranging from 49mm to 254.4mm. The fully expanded screen boasts a diagonal size of 12.4 inches and a resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels. However, it remains unclear how heavy this solution will be.

The Rollable Flex holds significant potential as a foundation for future tablets or laptops, as Samsung explicitly stated its intention to "revolutionize the mobility of tablets and laptops." However, no information is currently available regarding the release date of an actual device featuring this OLED display.

Attendees of the SID Display Week exhibition can witness the prototype of the Rollable Flex in action at the Samsung Display booth. Additionally, the company unveiled the world's first OLED panel for smartphones with an integrated fingerprint scanner and heart rate sensor.
