The world's first laptop with a flexible screen — the Thinkpad X1 Fold — can already be ordered for $2499
After five years of development, Lenovo is almost ready to start shipping the Thinkpad X1 Fold, which it claims is the first PC with a foldable flexible display. After announcing the characteristics of the device and related accessories, the company opened pre — orders-the price was $2499.

The ThinkPad X1 Fold features a 13.3-inch OLED display that curves like a book. The two halves do not completely close (as in the Galaxy Z Fold, there is a gap), so there is enough space to fit between the screen halves of the mini Bluetooth keyboard developed by Lenovo specifically for this device. The X1 Fold can charge the keyboard wirelessly while it is inside. Other accessories include the Lenovo Mod Pen and Easel Stand.

The system runs Windows 10 and is equipped with Intel Core (Lakefield) processors with Intel Hybrid technology. There is also a variant of a laptop-tablet with a 5G module, if the user wants to be constantly in touch.

Lenovo did not say when exactly the X1 Fold will start arriving to customers. Previously, deliveries were planned for the middle of this year, but, obviously, something did not work out. However, the fact that the company has started accepting pre-orders is a clear sign that the system is ready to enter the market: I think this will happen before the end of the year.
