According to analysts' forecasts of Digitimes Research, tablet sales globally will continue to decline in 2019.

Demand for tablets falls in the context of the growing popularity of smartphones with a large display. Tablet shipments will decrease this year and next year, dropping to 141 million units.

In the future, a decline is also predicted. Thus, in the period from 2021 to 2023, shipments of tablets on the world market will be reduced by 2-3% annually.

If we differentiate the tablets by the display size, according to experts of Digitimes Research, despite the general decline of buyers' interest, the growth of supplies will still be observed in the segment of devices with a diagonal of 9 inches or more.

In general, to attract consumers, tablet suppliers will have to reduce prices. After 2020, the bulk of the new devices will be gadgets ranging in size from 9.7 to 12.9 inches.

The fall in popularity of tablets is also evidenced by a study of the International Data Corporation (IDC). Thus, in the second quarter of this year, approximately 6.3 million tablets were sold on the market of Western Europe. This is 10.1 % less than a year ago, when shipments reached 7.0 million units.
