The cheapest BYD became a bestseller
BYD opened pre-orders for the Seagull model during the auto show in Shanghai. Within the first 24 hours, BYD received 10,000 orders for this model, which is currently the cheapest in BYD's lineup.

Now it has been revealed that BYD sold 14,300 units of the Seagull in May, with 1,500 units sold in April. In total, BYD sold 119,603 electric vehicles last month, with the Seagull accounting for approximately 12% of the total.

The Seagull offers three interior trim options priced from $10,400 to $12,600. All variants are equipped with a single front motor producing 74 hp, a maximum torque of 135 Nm, and a top speed of 130 km/h.

The main difference lies in the battery options. The higher-end version is equipped with a 38.88 kWh battery, providing a range of 405 km. The other two configurations come with a 30.08 kWh battery, offering a range of 305 km. Both variants use an LFP Blade battery and support fast charging up to 40 kW, allowing the Seagull to charge from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes.

The Seagull is a 5-door, 4-seater model based on the BYD 3.0 electronic platform and belongs to the Ocean series. Its dimensions are 3780 mm in length, 1715 mm in width, and 1540 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2500 mm.

The manufacturer referred to the Seagull as its first vehicle with a sodium-ion battery, but that version will be released later.
