| South Korean company SK Hynix continues launching of new lines for the production of 3D NAND memory. After Toshiba/WD and Intel SK Hynix is preparing to launch a new plant M15 near the city of Cheongju. The solemn event on the commissioning of the enterprise is scheduled for October 4. The plant will begin its work with the release of advanced SK Hynix 72-layer 3D NAND, but in early 2019 company will start the production of 96-layer 3D NAND. For SK Hynix, the massive release of 96-layer flash will be an opportunity to consolidate or even improve its position in the global flash market. Today it occupies the fifth place in the ranking of the largest manufacturers of NAND-flash. With the release of 96-layer products SK Hynix will reduce the technological gap from competitors and due to the new enterprise will increase production volumes.
