Network sources reporting that Samsung is preparing to release a new wearable device - Windows Mixed Reality headset.

About a year ago, the South Korean giant announced a set called Odyssey. This device is equipped with two screens with a resolution of 1440 × 1600 pixels each. The angle of view is 110 degrees, the refresh rate is 90 Hz.

To interact with the gadget, you can use wireless controllers with feedback. Built-in headphones and microphones are provided. Currently, the price of the device is about $400.

The new mixed reality headet appears under the name Odyssey+. It is reported that it will inherit the design features of the original model. The changes allegedly affect the visualization system.

Odyssey+ announcement may take place in the coming weeks. The device has already been received for certification by the regulatory authorities. The price of the new device is likely to be about $500.

IDC analysts predict that global shipments of virtual and augmented reality sets will reach approximately 4.2 million units this year. This will correspond to an increase of 31% compared to last year.
