Samsung has finally acknowledged the problem with the Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus Camera

Samsung has finally acknowledged the camera issue affecting some smartphones in the Galaxy S23 lineup.

The problem involves unexpected blurriness in photos. This issue has been observed in the Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus models, although not all devices are affected. Users first started reporting this problem as early as March.

The company remained silent for a long time, but it seems that the number of complaints has reached a critical level.

During the camera capabilities testing of the S23 or S23 Plus, you may have noticed that when capturing close-up shots, the area around the subject appears slightly blurry. This is because the rear wide-angle camera on the S23 and S23 Plus has a wide aperture, which helps in low-light conditions. However, this also means that a more noticeable selective focus can result in a slightly blurred background in your photos.

Samsung promises to address the issue through a software update and provides some tips on how to minimize blurriness:

  • Try taking the photo from a slightly greater distance. If the object you're photographing is about 30 cm away, try moving back by the width of your palm.
  • Try taking photos while holding the phone vertically. If you hold the phone horizontally or at an angle, the background may appear blurry.
