Razer Raptor

The CES 2019 consumer electronics show has already opened, which means it's time for the traditional show of Razer's ambitious new prototype. This year the company showed a 27-inch gaming monitor Raptor is the first case when the manufacturer of gaming equipment out in the sector of displays. But there's another unexpected twist here: the Raptor isn't just an enticing prototype for CES visitors. The company promises to release it at the end of this year as a full-fledged product worth $700.

The Raptor makes a good impression. Even if you forget for a moment about the technical characteristics, the company worked hard on its design. Around the display are visible only to a small frame with a thickness of 2.3 mm. Another nice touch is the built-in system control cords connect in the back. Razer suggests using special flat cables of green color for connection without prejudice to design (in such style the power cord, HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C and USB-A is executed). The stand supports 90 degree rotation.

As for the display itself, it matches the best gaming monitors: it is a 27-inch IPS screen with 2560 × 1440 resolution, anti-glare, 144 Hz refresh rate and response time between 1 MS (with motion blur compensation technology) and 7 MS (4 MS from gray to gray). The brightness of the screen reaches 420 CD / m2, there is support for HDR400. Declared color gamut 95 % of the range DCI-P3 and the level of contrast 1000: 1. The only drawback: only supports FreeSync, not G-Sync — but maybe by the time to market NVIDIA is implementing the work using the new driver. Among the ports are HDMI 2.0 a, DisplayPort 1.4, USB-C (including support for DisplayPort 1.4), 2 USB 3.1 gen1 and 3.5 mm headphone Jack.
