Qualcomm Technologies has announced what is claimed to be the industry's first reference design for a wireless headset to interact with Amazon Alexa voice assistant.

We are talking about the reference design of the Bluetooth Smart Headset device with a button designed to activate Alexa on an Android smartphone with the appropriate mobile application.

The basis of the headset is the chip QCC5100, presented during the January exhibition CES 2018. For this solution, support for wireless Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy and aptX HD codec is announced.

Among the features of the reference design device mentioned noise reduction Qualcomm cVc and ultra-low power consumption. If desired, the developers of headsets will be able to add the function of active noise cancellation.

In fact, as noted, the presented solution includes almost all hardware and software components necessary for the rapid and effective development of wireless headsets with Alexa support.
