Microsoft will soon introduce mouse and trackpad support in Word and Excel apps for iPad
This week, Microsoft began testing mouse and trackpad support in the beta versions of Word and Excel for iPad. New functionality was introduced in version 2.42 of each software product. They are already available through the Apple TestFlight beta testing service.

Using a mouse or trackpad will significantly improve the experience of using Microsoft office programs on Apple tablet computers, making it more similar to using desktop versions of these applications. However, there are notable differences. When using a trackpad, the cursor appears on the screen as a circle that POPs up only when the user touches the trackpad with their finger. When you hover over the icons and other elements on the screen, the cursor in the form of a circle transformirovalsya accordingly. Recall that support for the mouse and trackpad appeared on Apple tablets after updating to iPadOS 13.4. Keyboards combined with trackpads that are manufactured by both Apple and third-party companies are also supported.

Earlier, Micriosoft announced that mouse and trackpad support will be available in Word, Excel and PowerPoint for iPad to a wide range of users this fall.
