MediaTek has officially announced a new mobile processor — solution Helio P70, which is an improved version of the popular product Helio P60.

Like its predecessor, the new chip uses the big architecture.LITTLE. The configuration provides for four ARM Cortex-A73 cores with clock frequency up to 2.1 GHz (Helio P60 — maximum 2.0 GHz) and four ARM Cortex-A53 cores with clock frequency up to 2.0 GHz.

As part of the graphics subsystem is still used accelerator ARM Mali-G72 MP3, but its maximum frequency rose from 800 to 900 MHz. Support for displays with a resolution of up to 2160 × 1080 pixels has been announced.

The processor received a multi-core APU unit with a frequency of up to 525 MHz, responsible for accelerating the execution of operations related to artificial intelligence (AI). It is claimed that in comparison with Helio P60 the increase of AI-productivity makes from 10 % to 30 %.

The new chip supports up to 8GB of LPDDR3 and LPDDR4x RAM, EMMC 5.1 and UFS 2.1 flash memory, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac wireless Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy. Cameras with a resolution of up to 32 million pixels or dual cameras with a resolution of up to 16+24 million pixels can be used.

Finally, the support of LTE Cat-7 DL / Cat-13 UL mobile communication, as well as Dual 4G VoLTE technology is mentioned.
