MediaTek's Dimensity 9300 Chipset Promises Incredible Power

MediaTek's Dimensity 9300 Chipset Promises Incredible Power
It appears that the Dimensity 9300 chipset from MediaTek will offer an incredible level of performance, potentially surpassing even the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. MediaTek has confirmed that its new solution will utilize Cortex-X4 cores, which were unveiled yesterday.

The upcoming Dimensity 9300 SoC will feature Cortex-A720 cores and the Immortalis-G720 GPU. Interestingly, MediaTek did not mention anything about the inclusion of Cortex-A520 or any other low-power cores. Earlier, insider reports from Digital Chat Station suggested that the Dimensity 9300 would feature four Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 cores, indicating the absence of low-power cores in the new platform. While it is still early to draw definite conclusions, MediaTek's statement indirectly supports these rumors.

In comparison, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, according to available information, will adopt a 1 + 5 + 2 configuration, meaning it will have only one supercore and two low-power cores. This configuration is unlikely to compete with the 4 + 4 setup of the Dimensity 9300.

Furthermore, MediaTek's statement clarifies that at least the upcoming flagship platform from the company will not feature an Nvidia GPU. Such rumors have circulated twice before, and yesterday the companies confirmed their collaboration, although it currently pertains only to automotive platforms.
