Mazda is preparing switch to the production of electric and hybrid cars

Mazda Motor Corp announced on Tuesday that all the vehicles that company planning to produce by 2030 will be electrified, with 5% going completely electric.

Japanese automaker joins a growing number of leading automakers who plan to reduce emissions by producing more hybrid and electric cars.

"Mazda predicts that by 2030, internal combustion engines, in combination with some form of electrification will be used in 95% of the vehicles that it produces, and the models on the complete electric move, there will be 5 %", — stated in the statement of the automaker.

Earlier, Mazda announced that it will start selling electric cars in 2020. On Tuesday, the company announced that it will develop two models of electric cars, one of which will be fully powered by batteries, and the second will be equipped with a rotary engine to ensure the operation of the generator, recharging the battery.

Currently, Mazda does not have any full-electric car, and only one hybrid model Mazda3 version.
