LG introduced the StanbyME Go — a portable display in a suitcase
LG has introduced the StanbyME Go 27LX5, a portable display integrated into a suitcase. Evidently, the company envisions users taking this device with them on trips or even picnics, allowing them to watch movies or play games on a full-sized screen rather than a small smartphone or tablet. The LG StanbyME Go is equipped with a 27-inch touch-sensitive display with a 1080p resolution and Dolby Vision support. The screen can be set up in various positions: horizontal or vertical, tilted from 0 to 90 degrees, rotated, and adjusted in height within a range of 18 centimeters. It can also be used as a desktop touch panel.

The LG StanbyME Go features 20W speakers that adapt to the display's tilt angle and support Dolby Atmos. The display is powered by LG WebOS, the same operating system used in the company's televisions, which enables content streaming from iOS or Android devices using AirPlay or Miracast. It also includes an HDMI port for wired connections. LG claims that the case has passed durability tests conducted by the US Department of Defense, making it resistant to low pressure, high temperatures, dust, vibrations, salt spray, impacts, and falls. The LG StanbyME Go comes with a built-in battery that can provide up to three hours of operation without external power.

The LG StanbyME Go display will be available for purchase in the South Korean market on July 7th. The price of the new device will be 1.17 million won, which is approximately $885.
