The cost of gaming monitors with HDR support continues to decline, judging by the announcement of the new model from LG. The 32UK550-B display has 4K resolution (3840 × 2160), supports HDR10, covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color space, and supports AMD FreeSync frame synchronization technology in the 40-60 Hz range.

LG says the display is capable of displaying over a billion colors (probably 8 bits per channel + FRC), has been factory calibrated. Currently, the monitor is available only in Japan, but most likely it will soon appear in EU and the US. Despite the relatively low cost for 4K display, the device can offer a lot: 31.5-inch VA panel with a response time of 4 MS and viewing angles of 178°, contrast at 3000:1.

The monitor also has backlight, flicker-free matte coating on the screen, the stabilization technology of black color and the regime of suppression of parasitic blue tint to reduce eye strain.

An important feature is the support for HDR10, but unfortunately, the declared brightness level is only 300 / m2, which does not meet even the minimum requirements of the DisplayHDR group, but for the average user this may be enough. 32UK550-B will arrive in Japanese stores on October 11 for 55,000 yen ($485)
