| GIGABYTE will soon release the x299-WU8 motherboard. The novelty was found in the range of one of the Chinese retailers. This motherboard is intended for creation on its basis of a productive workstation and therefore devoid of RGB backlight and a variety of radiators. According to the manufacturer, the power subsystem of the motherboard GIGABYTE X299-WU8 is made of server-class components. Unfortunately, it is not specified exactly how many phases the power subsystem has. We will note only that aluminum radiators with copper heat pipes are responsible for cooling of power elements. There are two 8-pin EPS connectors to power the LGA 2066 processor connector. Motherboard GIGABYTE X299-WU8 made in the form factor E-ATX. It is equipped with eight slots for DDR4 memory modules with a total capacity of up to 128 GB. There are also seven expansion slots PCI-Express 3.0 x16. Supported bundles NVIDIA SLI and AMD CrossFireX, including up to four graphics cards. There is one 6-pin connector for additional power supply of PCI Express slots. There are eight SATA III ports and only one slot for connecting storage devices. The novelty is equipped with two Intel network controllers with a capacity of 1 Gbit/s each. The Realtek ALC1220 chip acts as the basis of the sound subsystem. Note also the presence of two USB 3.1 ports (Type-C and Type-a). Motherboard GIGABYTE X299-WU8 is currently available in China at a price approximately equal to $720. When the novelty will appear outside China, is not yet specified. | |
