| Blackmagic Design has announced the Blackmagic eGPU Pro, an external graphics accelerator designed for use with Apple computers. The novelty has an original appearance. Inside installed high-performance of AMD Radeon RX Vega56. This video card has 8 GB of HBM2 memory. The Thunderbolt 3 interface with USB Type-C connector is used to connect to the computer: the bandwidth reaches 40 Gbit / s. The external graphics accelerator is equipped with DisplayPort and HDMI digital interfaces for image output. It is said about the possibility of connecting monitors with a resolution up to 5K. There is also an additional Thunderbolt 3 port. The peripherals can be connected to four USB 3.0 connectors. The novelty is designed for use primarily with portable computers. The Blackmagic eGPU Pro solution will be available at an estimated price of $1,200. Sales will start in November. | |
